The imperial vocation of China is ancient and it is foolish to ignore or belittle. For this reason it is worth asking what the great dragon aims in our region? Why so much interest from China in Latin America? Some think it is a simple and innocent commercial interests. Others
thought it would be wiser to analyze it as a clever chess move to
control the board and maybe do a checkmate in the region.
So far China has acted apparently only in a commercial way, showing no expansionist interests. The
Chinese claim that the China-Latin America relationship is mutually
beneficial to strengthen between the two regions, not just education
also trade and energy exchange, but and scientific
Can we trust us on this? Can we be complacent, for example,
in which thousands of hectares of land bought by the Chinese in some of
our countries, such as Colombia, are just to plant and grow food? Or is it cairns new frontiers? Do not see fit to a nation, an empire as Chinese, gradually acquire possession of our lands.
China has invested heavily in our countries. According
to the Institute for Global Economic Governance Boston University,
China granted 102,000 million in loans to Latin America between 2005 and
2013. This makes each day the region is more indebted to the eastern
giant and more dependent on their trade relations ., which already
exceeded 200,000 million
in the moment China is the largest market for Brazil and Chile and the second in Peru, Cuba and Costa Rica; Moreover, in Nicaragua just started building a very expensive canal, which will give enormous control over the Caribbean. Such
is the influence of China in the region that the next forum of the
Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), will be held
in Beijing.
Not surprisingly United States was quick to make peace with Cuba. It
is clear that one of the purposes of such thunderous change of attitude
towards the repressive policies of the Castro is become strong in a
region where great strides are losing influence, while China every day
gains more power.
Supposedly, the urgent need for energy supply oil, gas, coal and other
minerals, and to get some agricultural products such as soybeans, is
what has driven the eyes of the Chinese to Latin America. It is also obvious desire to open new markets for their manufactured goods.
But we must not forget the continuing desire of this empire to promote their communist ideas, expand their political power. I
do not doubt that this is finally his greater purpose Do we perhaps
become a repressive government satellites where freedoms are not given,
where everything is controlled by the State and the Communist Party is
the only god, lord of the life and property of its citizens?
Let's not be innocent. Surely the great interest and strong
Chinese investment in the area arouses suspicion and creates questions
that should be seriously weighed.
